The Tram was put in services in 1992 on normal gauge monitor with modern day cars and trucks, connecting Sirkeci with Topkapi. The road was prolonged on a single end from Topkapi to Zeytinburnu in March 1994 and, on the other end from Sirkeci to Eminönü in April 1996.
